Welcome to Disconite!
Greetings everyone! Thanks for checking out the forum. As you might have guessed, this is a bit different from your average run-of-the-mill forum. Most forums are either managed by the community directly or run by prominent team members.
This forum was created out of the interest of people in the Resonite community and is powered by the forum software Discourse. Hence the name, Disconite (Discourse Resonite).
Is this forum a waste of money?
Thanks for caring about my wallet! I was aware of the costs when I started this forum. There’s some interest from the community, and people seem to like the idea. While it may sit in the background for months at times, the only real expense was the domain. The server runs on my own infrastructure, so maintenance costs are minimal. It’s behind Cloudflare, so most assets are cached and the forum runs smoothly.
What is the affiliation?
While this is a “what if Resonite had their own forum” kind of project, it’s completely independent. It is not owned, operated, managed, moderated, endorsed, or officially affiliated with Yellow Dog Man Studios or any related entities. YDMS is displayed on each profile of their staff, but they do not control or manage this forum, except in legal cases like copyright or trademark issues.
How do I become staff?
So this is a 2 layered question.
So you want to become Resonite Staff?
Contact YDMS or check the respective career pages (YDMS & Resonite).
You want to become Disconite Staff?
As of this moment, you are unable to apply for any position within Disconite, this is to thread the careful nature of this forum, and prevent people from claiming they’re an @resonite_staff or @volunteer_moderator. Currently the forum is still being built up, and it’s rules surrounding it are still to be built.
As of this moment, only Resonite Moderators and Staff are able to obtain the moderation or staff roles within the forum for that exact reason.
What you can do here
This forum is a hub for anything Resonite. Here’s what you can expect:
- Community > General Discussion - Talk about updates, features, and concepts
- Community > Media & Clips - Share worlds, avatars, tools, or creations
- Creation & Development - Scripting, troubleshooting, or workflow tips
- Collaboration > Community Challenges - Collaborate on creative or technical challenges posted or offered by the community.
Why use this forum alongside Discord?
- Conversations are persistent and searchable
- Because most stuff is on the Discord, this place is still an empty shell. Feel free to ask any questions in Creation & Development category!
- It’s organized for knowledge sharing
- This doesn’t and shoudn’t disvalue the wiki either. Feel free to credit the wiki anywhere, and if you can. Make edits yourself so it improves the quality of the wiki

- This doesn’t and shoudn’t disvalue the wiki either. Feel free to credit the wiki anywhere, and if you can. Make edits yourself so it improves the quality of the wiki
- Slower-paced, more discussions that don’t get lost in chat because everyone is talking everywhere all at once.
What if this forum doesn’t get touched
If it doesn’t. Welp, then that’s unfortunate but not a loss of anything. It’s a “best effort” forum made in my spare free time. And if someone wants to use it? Feel free! We’re not stopping you… unless you need to be moderated of course. :-I
